How to Cook Bacon on a Blackstone Griddle

- Preheat Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat (approx. 400 degrees F°).
- Place the bacon on the Blackstone griddle. Don’t crowd.
- Cook the bacon for approximately 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes. Depending on the thickness of your bacon, you can continue to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes (flipping as needed) until your bacon reaches your desired level of crispness.
- You can use a Blackstone bacon press or Blackstone spatula to periodically press the bacon.
- Remove the bacon from the Blackstone flat top griddle and place on a plate covered with a paper towel. This will help soak up any unwanted bacon fat. You can also lightly press the top of the bacon with another paper towel if you want to remove any extra fat.
Storing and Reheating Blackstone Bacon: Bacon can be stored in an airtight container or plastic bag for 2-3 days. Reheat the bacon in the microwave or deep fryer.
Blackstone Bacon Press
The Blackstone Bacon Press is a great way to get extra crispy bacon!
This handy tool is made of heavy duty cast iron and it serves multiple purposes when cooking bacon on a Blackstone griddle.
Its primary function is to apply pressure to the bacon as it cooks, ensuring even cooking and Helps prevent excessive frizz or shrinkage.
By maintaining optimal contact between the bacon strips and the cooking surface, the result is a more uniform golden and crisp (and allows the fat to give up).
The Blackstone Bacon Press can also be used to cook Blackstone burgers, steaks, paninis, sansiwches, and sausages to name a few!
What to do with Blackstone Bacon Grease
Leftover Blackstone bacon grease can be reused or safely disposed of. Bacon grease is bursting with smoky flavor and is great for stir-frying vegetables, eggs, or just about anything!
To reuse the bacon grease, strain it through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any solid particles (if it’s too dirty, don’t use it).
Store in an airtight container in the fridge and use within 3-4 days.
Alternatively, if you prefer to dispose of the bacon grease, be sure to do so safely. Pouring hot bacon grease down the drain is a recipe for disaster and can clog pipes and cause plumbing problems over time.
Pour the fat into a heatproof container and allow the fat to cool and solidify. Dispose of it into a disposable, sealable container and dispose of it in the trash. You can also use an oil solidifier for easier disposal.
Blackstone Bacon Temperature
The best temperature for Blackstone bacon is over medium-high heat, which is about 400 degrees F°.
It’s important to note that certain parts of your Blackstone griddle may be hotter than others, as the temperature isn’t always perfectly even across the entire surface, so move the bacon around on the Blackstone griddle accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions and Expert Tips

In general, bacon yields a significant amount of fat, so bacon sticking to the Blackstone is usually not a problem. However, if you find that your bacon is sticking to the Blackstone, use your spatula, gently scrape up the bacon and move it to a part of the surface where some of the bacon grease has formed.
A Blackstone bacon press allows you to apply pressure to the bacon as it cooks on the flat top surface. This allows for more even cooking, reduced curling, and a more even crisp texture.
Cook the bacon over medium-high heat for about 8-10 minutes on the Blackstone griddle, flipping halfway. Cook an additional 1 to 2 minutes if necessary to achieve desired crispiness depending on the thickness of the bacon.
To clean a Blackstone bacon press, allow it to cool completely after use. Wash it in warm, soapy water, using a sponge or cloth to remove any residue. Rinse well, dry completely, and store in a clean, dry place.
