  • brown sugar– Brown sugar gives this sweet and salty marinade the sweetness. Any type works.
  • English sauce: I love Worcestershire sauce in marinades because it’s tangy and flavorful.
  • Garlic: the garlic in this really ties the marinade together.
  • Lemon: a bit of citrus is really the icing on the cake!

What to store marinated pork chops in

When marinating any type of meat, we normally use 2 different containers:

  1. Pan: if using a casserole, we recommend flipping the pork chops a few times to make sure everything is well coated. You can also use whatever type of deep skillet you have on hand.
  2. One gallon plastic bag: I prefer to use a plastic bag because I find that more meat is covered.

How long to marinate pork chops?

We recommend marinating your pork chops for 12-24 hours. However, if you are short on time, 2-4 hours will do the trick.

Ways to Cook Marinated Pork Chops

I mentioned that this is a fantastic marinade for grilled pork chops, but it’s also great for a variety of other cooking methods.

Grill: Grill the pork chops at 400ºF (medium-high heat) over direct heat for about 6-8 minutes per side or until cooked through. Check out our Grilled Pork Chops Recipe.

Instructions

  • Add soy sauce, light brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and lemon juice to a bowl and mix until sugar dissolves.

  • Place the pork chops in a large gallon-sized plastic bag, then pour the marinade into the bag.

  • Remove air from plastic bag and carefully massage marinade into pork chops.
